Chennai: Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has announced the launch of a Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Analytics, a one-year web-enabled programme aimed at equipping professionals with advanced capabilities in data analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and digital transformation.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Analytics is designed to help professionals apply analytics and AI directly to manufacturing operations, productivity enhancement, and strategic decision-making.
Offered by the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, IIT Madras, the Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Analytics addresses the increasing demand within the manufacturing sector for professionals capable of integrating advanced analytics and AI into industrial operations.
The first batch of the Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Analytics will commence on 7 September 2026, while the last date to apply is 31 May 2026. Applications can be submitted through the official programme portal.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Analytics features a curriculum that combines strong mathematical foundations with contemporary technologies such as machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI.
The programme also emphasises real-world manufacturing use cases, ensuring learners can translate theoretical knowledge into practical industrial applications.
Structured over three academic terms across one year (September–August), the Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Analytics carries a total of 90 credits, reflecting its academic depth and applied orientation.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Analytics is open to candidates holding three-year or four-year undergraduate degrees in relevant disciplines, including B.Sc. Computer Science and Computer Applications, subject to the admission criteria set by IIT Madras.
The programme primarily targets working professionals from large-scale and medium-scale manufacturing organisations, along with eligible graduates seeking to develop advanced capabilities in manufacturing analytics.
The web-enabled delivery format of the Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Analytics is designed to accommodate the learning needs of professionals while they continue their careers.
